[ Who are you calling a thug!?

Yata's on his way home himself. He's never taking the night shift at a convenience store again! His contract just started, though. Eyelids heavy, he finds himself nodding off to sleep as he zooms along the streets on his skateboard. His trip would have been without incident if he had only watched where he was going. Alas, the person who wakes him up is the same one he's about to crash into. ]

[ Skateboarding boys are thugs! Probably!!

Matsuri doesn't watch where she's going, humming a song under her breath — the collision is sudden, unexpected, painful. She fall backwards, landing in a semi-awkward position, short skirt barely covering her thighs.. Her umbrella flies out of her hands, landing some feet away; her groceries — a warm bun, two cans of tomato bean juice — have spilled to the ground. ]

Ah... Hurts...

[rollin]

[ Yata is just as lucky. His knees and elbows graze against the asphalt as he attempts to break his fall. The skateboard, on the other hand, flips over and slides a short distance away. He groans in pain as he lands next to her. It isn't until he opens his eyes that he acknowledges her presence. ]

Ah! Sorry!

[ He attends to the girl before he even notices his own injuries. ]

Are you alri— [ he's about to help her up but AH... LEGS... ]

[ Zettai ryouiki legs, if those make any difference.

Opening her eyes, she glances towards the thug — boy, ready to make a small if teasing complain, but stops short when she sees his face and his clear hesitation. Looking downwards, she understands.

There's only one thing to do, in that case. Mild disapproval on her face, more gentle rebuke than angry accusation, she says: ]

I'm not! [ He turns away in an effort to hide his face. He still isn't aware that his reactions can be easily misconstrued. Despite the rebuke, he offers her a hand while looking the other direction, anyway. ] Do you need help or not?

[yaka]

[ His actions make her want to laugh. It's kind of cute, really! She smiles, then blinks down at his hand. Even in the night, under the streetlamps, she can see the bruising on his arms. ]

Hmm. [ She pretends to think. She's still smiling though. It's probably audible in her words. ] Then, I'll accept it as an apology.

[ Reaching out, she grabs his hand and pulls herself up. Rather easily, despite her small build. When she's standing, she lets go and starts dusting herself off as best as she can, but it's hard with the rain still pouring upon them. ]

[rollin]

[ What's with that smile? It makes him feel like he did something weird. Once she's back up on her feet, he looks around for something to do. Anything to help her and distract him from being awkward. Although he loves his skateboard, he picks up her umbrella first and offers it to her. ]

You dropped this.

[yaka]

[ He's being awfully nice... That takes her a while to process -- the surprised expression on her face melts away into another easy smile. ]

Thank you.

[ She accepts the umbrella gracefully, turning around to try and find her ... oh no, her buns. ]

[rollin]

[ He's getting them, along with her drinks. ]

Oh man, I'm so sorry. I'll buy you new ones if you need to—

[ His skateboard's still there on the street. Actually, why are you skateboarding in the rain, Yata? (Because he's that sleepy.) ]

[yaka]

[ At first she's holding her umbrella out to shelter her from the rain. He walks too far though, picking up her items ... ignoring his own. What a strange guy. So while he's getting hers, she goes to pick up his skateboard, thrusting it at him, interrupting him mid-speech, umbrella carefully positioned to shelter the two of them. ]

You forgot about this.

[rollin]

[ He's taken by surprise by the skateboard and the drops of rain that stopped falling on him. His skateboard didn't slip his mind; he was so preoccupied with this girl's things that he made it his last priority. ]

[ For the skateboard and the shelter. He hands her the plastic bag with her food and drinks in exchange for his things. ]

I'm going this way. [ He sounds nervous. ] How 'bout you?

[yaka]

[ Well... she's heading in the other direction, but. ]

Do you usually walk in the rain without one?

[ Skate, really. ]

[rollin]

Oh. [ That. ] Uh...

[ He scratches the back of his head and replies sheepishly. Tiredly. ] It's kind of a one-time thing, eheh.

[yaka]

Hmm... Then, I'll walk you home.

[rollin]

[ Did he hear that correctly!? ]

[ Not that they aren't both soaked. Her umbrella's large enough for two, though. ]
