Oh. [He seemed so much more wiser than her, but maybe there's just some things that he doesn't know yet either. She tugs his sleeve so he wouldn't look everywhere but her--]
We'll learn about love together. Let's work hard. [Determined!!! And she really means research.]
no subject
Eh? [ Time stops. ] ... Yeah.
[ HE AGREED! WHY DID HE AGREE!! ]
no subject
He agreed, so that means he's happy now, right? She smiles because she's relieved.]
We'll succeed, and our hearts beat faster. [Since that's all about AI isn't it?! /Sherry voice]
Can we buy your manga in there? [WHOA girl two seconds ago you were kinda romantic what's going on.]
no subject
Ah. The topic got dropped. ]
Yeah. They should have it. Let's go in.
[ Aaaand once they enter and Yata starts browsing, he encounters the unavoidable risque magazines. Of course he reacts to them... by looking away, because he's predictable. WHERE'S HIS JUMP!? ]
no subject
But maybe soon since he's interesting. She follows him and then notices he's avoiding eye contact from the stylish nudes. Her reaction to naked humans are pretty boring thanks to all her years in art.]
Yata, is that it? [She points to the risque magazines. OR MAYBE, THAT ONE JUMP MAGAZINE that has been misplaced between the two sexy mags, one about hot high school girls and the other with the giant G cups.]
no subject
[ DELIBERATELY LOOKING AWAY. ... Wait.
... He quietly grabs the Shounen Jump nestled in between the two lewd magazines and quickly shuffles over to the counter to pay for it, then he walks away, grabs Mashiro's wrist and leads both of them out of the convenience store without a word.
AND HE LETS OUT A SIGH OF RELIEF. ]
Here. [ Gives her the latest issue of Jump! Gosh. He's all red. ]
no subject
HURRAH MISSION QUEST COMPLETED. She takes the offered Jump magazine. But she tucks that under her arm for now and takes out a bottle of water and offers it to him. He seems tired!]
no subject
I'm good... Anyway, you should read it. It's got a lot of good stuff. I dunno if you'll like it, though...
no subject
Wait this stuff is pretty addictive.]
Yata, he looks like you. [Pointing at Ichigo Kurosaki. UM. AT SAME ANGLES MAYBE?]
no subject
[ He mumbles because he's not used to girls treating him like this. You're too nice to him! Mashiro! Yata sees who Mashiro is comparing him to and... Squints? ]
I dunno. I guess. He gets weird with his Hollow shit though. It'd be cool if I had a Bankai like his...
[ coughs. His dorky side is showing. UHH SHIT he would say something too but no shounen heroine looks like her. They're all cute and spunky. ]
That one's cool, but this is the one I like. [ points at the Fairy Tail title
He'd like most series in here tbh what a kid ]
no subject
Meanwhile, what is this bankai he speaks of, it sounds cool.] A bankai. What is it?
[She asks this as she's flipping pages until he points at Fairy Tail, and then she reads it more closely.] Natsu...
[She looks between the two, Yata and Natsu, and remembering that Yata thought Natsu was cool and really likes manga, she takes out her drawing pad, and quickly sketches a picture of Yata surrounded by fire (WOW ACTUALLY TRUE). Except his clothes are spruced up like a fantasy shounen hero, similar vein to Natsu, but not exactly the same. He still has a fancy hat.
...and a cute flying cat.]
no subject
[ Don't make him say things that make him sound like a Bleach nut! Also beanies aren't fancy hats. He peers over her shoulder to watch her draw. ]
Woah, you're good! [ Hold on, is that who he thinks it is? Squints even more. ] Is that me?
Happy... [ That's not Happy. ]
no subject
She nods as she keeps drawing.] Mm. I don't know what your favourite cat is.
[It looks a bit like a big eyed cat if anything. Probably orange or red if she had her colours on her.]
What epic battle cry would you have?
no subject
As for my battle cry, it's obviously, "No blood! No bone! No ash!"
[ Lame.
Please humor him. ]
no subject
Oh Yata, you're such a Homra. Since this was more of a portrait than a manga panel, she does stylise that battle cry up a bit. Not to mention being an British resident mean that it's in perfect English.]
No blood! No bone! No ash! [It was a little bit monotone since this is Mashiro we're talking about here, but she did raise her fist okay.]

I'm glad.
Maybe I'll try this kind of story one day.
no subject
no subject
But he's got a point, she's still writing a manuscript. She thinks about this.]
Then a story about life, love in a vicious battle between mages. Is love in adversity the strongest?
no subject
You're asking me about that? [ Let him sit down next to her and think about this. ]
I dunno... Uh, let's say love's like friendship — hypothetically. [ Love is like friendship, idiot. ] Then I can agree with that for sure. Like how when you're in danger, you know who your true friends are. Yeah, somethin' like that.
But I dunno what love is...
no subject
I think I understand now. Like how you saved me from certain death after taking my fork away.
[She meant friendship, not love.
But hmm, they're only about half way there with this plot. She needs a main character, some NPCs, maybe a setting.]
Are you still free, Yata?
no subject
Uh, no, I think that's— [ That's not love. Does she think he's in love with her!? She is pretty cute, though. BUT NO HE'S NOT IN LOVE WITH HER!!! ]
Yeah, it's my day-off. [ Miraculously! ] Why?
no subject
I want to go somewhere. [BUT WHERE COULD IT BE...]
no subject
[ This better not be anywhere weird. ]
no subject
No just kidding.]
Cinema. [She needs someone to actually help her get tickets and recommend ACTION MOVIES and stuff.]
